- The name Bibbin may be a corruption of the word bobbing (floating aimlessly in the water or walking with a rocking motion), in reference to how this ooblet seems to enjoy playing in the rain. It may also mirror the name of Wuddlin, another weather-specific ooblet whom Bibbin superficially resembles.
